Private House
Private House is an Indie band from Melbourne consisting of four friends from High School.;
*Lachlan Marshall- Vocals/Guitar
*Alec Uittenbosch- Bass
*Charlie Howcroft- Guitar
*Onie Livadaris- Drums
After seeing a post through Twitter relating to their music, I used my journalistic skills to track down the boys and see if they had a few moments to answer some questions. Lucky for me 'Lachy' was monitoring their Facebook account.
How did you guys meet? We met at school, and have known each other since year 4. Except for Alec, who I've (lachy) known for ages. We didn't start playing together until the start of
this year. We all share an interest and passion for the same music, and all enjoy chilling out and taking the piss, and that's probably influenced our music.
What have you done so far? We've submitted work to triple J unearthed, we've played a gig at a church, and we've recorded 7 songs. Otherwise we haven't done much else, but are very excited for what the future holds.
What is it that you like about creating songs? As a band, probably just having fun and then being able to listen to the music after. Also as way of expressing yourself without having to actually "say" what you mean to people. Writing and playing songs together is a lot of fun, and it's a really relaxed atmosphere, and then definitely influences the kind of music we play.
So how do people contact you or get access to your music? Like a lot of people our age we have the 'standard issue' Facebook page, which I belive they give to infants upon their birth. You can also visit our 'Unearthed' profile or shoot us an email at; [email protected] .
***Below you will find the 'Private House' song they have entered in to Triple J's 'Unearthed' competition, which is a national initiative to help find up-and-coming musical talent from around Australia. On a personal note, if this song is any indication I believe these boys will have a bright future ahead of them and I look forward to posting more of their music on this page. If they let me that is.
