What made you pick up a paintbrush? I always wanted to paint. I never really thought I had the time, but one day I just decided to go for it and purchased some brushes, paints and a canvas. Nearly four years later, I have fully stocked studio and paint every spare moment I have. I am self taught so I just love to experiment.
How do you decide what you are going to paint next? Is it commercial reasons or something that tests your skills? I have so many ideas of what I would like to paint
and have a lot of paintings as works in progress going at the same time. I paint for a number of reasons mainly as I really need to paint. I also paint on commission for people who request certain styles, sizes and colours they would like for their homes. I put my paintings onto my website for people to look at and purchase.Painting is my passion.
What was the first painting you sold and how did it make you feel? The first painting I sold was one of my signature‘Doux Femme’ paintings at Berowra Art Show. I put
so much love and time into my paintings and was very excited that someone wanted to purchase one for their home.
If you have ever received any criticism for your work how did you move past it to keep painting? Art is like food or wine, it’s a matter of taste. If someone does not like a painting I am happy to accept constructive criticism and learn from it, but sometimes people just have a certain style they like.
