Cedifra
Cedifra is a young German Rapper who is currently producing his LP "Zeit geht". Cedifra is also one half of the rap duo 'CNS-Crew'. Recently we were able to snatch a few precious moments out of his busy schedule to answer some questions for 'RightBrainFreeze'.
1) What attracted you to pursuing a career in music? Nothing but the music. I love creating and sharing. That would be the only reason I would consider working with/for the music-industry. If I get a chance to do my thing without having to adapt to target-groups then I am happy. I am an optimist, the glass is empty.
2) When you first started creating your music and writing lyrics, was there ever a point where you doubted your abilities? Yes, all the time. The ability to write is enabled by one’s mind. To write something worthwhile you will need emotional triggers (that applies to me only; I do not wish to generalise.). If you get stuck in a mind-numbing day-job and you got to force emotional content out of your life in order to function, one creates those moments of emptiness which lead to doubting your abilities. It is important to feel strongly about things.
3) Have you ever received negative feedback about your music and how did you push past it if you did? Always, I create music that I like. If everyone liked my music, I would have to consider if it's still what I intended it to be. Sometimes it even makes me happy if people hate what I do. It can be reassuring as well as irritating.
4) Was there ever a time when you felt that it was 'just too much' and wanted to give up? Yes, lots of times. It is hard to balance friends, music, work and all the other thoughts ought to be put into life.
5) What feeling do you get when you are writing music? Balanced, calm, happy, good-sad, bad-sad. But always thirsty and then hungry.
